What experience does Teach Well Toolkit have of delivering training?
We are qualified teachers with over 60 years combined experience in primary and secondary education and also have substantial experience in delivering training to adults.
Teach Well Toolkit is a registered centre with Open Awards and we specialise in education qualifications for school staff. We are a DfE Approved Provider of Senior Mental Health Lead Training. We are also both Fellows of the Chartered College of Teaching.
The Level 3 Award in Education and Training is an entry level qualification for those wishing to teach adults, including Teaching Assistants who would like to increase their involvement in training and professional development in their school. It combines online learning with practical teaching practice. You are assessed on submission of written work and delivery of a short teaching session.
If you are unfamiliar with what Levels mean in adult qualifications, a Level 3 is equivalent in difficulty to GCSE.
What does submitting the written work for assessment involve?
You will complete three aspects or 'units' of education and training online. Each unit is allocated a number of 'credits', to count towards a total of 12 credits to gain the Level 3 Award in Education and Training.
1) Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training (3 credits).
2) Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training (6 credits).
3) Understanding the principles and practices of assessment (3 credits).
How does the assessment of teaching practice work?
You are assessed delivering a short teaching session for Unit 3 Understanding and Using Inclusive Teaching and Learning Approaches in Education and Training.
You will deliver one 15-minute micro-teaching session, observed and assessed by a member of the Teach Well Toolkit team. During the remainder of the hour, you can either:
* Deliver additional teaching sessions.
or
* Observe the teaching sessions of other trainee teachers.

How much does the Level 3 Award in Education and Training cost?
The cost of the Level 3 Certificate in Education and Training is only £249. This includes the online course, the course book (see above), tutor support, assessment and certification.
