How it Works: A typical schedule
A Fit 4 Reading session (60 minutes)
* Y2 readers and Yr5 Reading Coaches meet at lunch one day each week.
* Y5 organise Wake Up, Shake Up [20 mins]. A teacher supervises this activity.
* Children have lunch together [20 mins].
* Yr5 Reading Coaches hear Y2 children read one-to-one [20 mins].
* Y5 take an attendance register.
* Students go from Fit 4 Reading to afternoon school.
Training
* We train Y5 to be Reading Coaches online via Zoom or Teams. Training takes 3 hours 30 minutes, including breaks.
* Pupils can either join the training via a desktop or laptop, or the training can be presented on a whiteboard.
* We provide access to a digital copy of all resources, ready to be printed.
* The teacher who will deliver Y5 Reading Coach training in the future, using our model, supervises the training.
How much does the training cost?
The training costs £495 (No VAT). This is a one-off fee. We are offering a 10% discount during our launch in Autumn Term 2025. Just use Coupon Code FIT4READING10 at checkout or when requesting your invoice.
Your school is provided with a licence to train Reading Coaches in future, using the resources we provide.
The training includes:
* 3 hours 30 minutes training of up to 20 Reading Coaches.

* Teacher's Notes.
* Reading Record book.
* Attendance register templates.
* Certificates for Reading Coaches, Y2 readers and a School Certificate.
* Metal 'Reading Coach' badges for first training delivery.
* Unlimited support via email.

* Make payment via our checkout or request an invoice for your school. The cost of the training, the Fit 4 Reading handbook and document templates is £495.

* Choose up to 20 Y5 children to be Reading Coaches.
* When we receive payment, we will contact you to arrange online training for the Y5 Reading Coaches. We will need 3-4 hours, a teacher to supervise the training and either a whiteboard/screen to show our slides or access for the children to an individual desktop or laptop.
* Identify KS1 children who will join Fit 4 Reading.
